This work demonstrates that the seismicity‐derived fault plane fails to predict the surface displacement, and that the inferred Celala segment produces positive stress on Pantan Terong segment and potentially triggered all the aftershocks. Analysis of stress transfer caused by the 2013 earthquake indicates that the stress level along the Pantan Terong segment is > 0.4 bar and the southeast part of Aceh segment was brought ∼ 0.3 bar closer to failure, suggesting a possible earthquake occurrence in the future. Minimum misfit between data and model is obtained with model 3, suggesting that the earthquake slip occurred along a left‐lateral fault. We further estimate the coseismic slip distribution of this earthquake by employing an elastic dislocation model, inverting only the GPS displacements for model 3 and jointly inverting GPS displacements and geological surface offsets for models 1, 2, and 4. Model 3 is constructed on a left‐lateral fault, the Celala segment, which is perpendicular to the Aceh segment of the Sumatran fault, and model 4 is constructed using the multiple faults in models 2 and 3. We study the rupture process of the 1 January (M w 7.9), 16 July (M w 6.6), and 22 (M w 7) July 1996 earthquakes in Sulawesi, Indonesia.A teleseismic body waveform inversion of very broadband records shows that these events occurred beneath the accretionary prism. The death toll from an earthquake on the Indonesian island of Java has risen to at least 268, officials said Tuesday, after. WRS-TSP Indonesia connected online directly to the processing and dissemination system of TSP Indonesia at BMKG Jakarta head quarter. We also estimate the coseismic slip distribution using another two fault models. The Mw 7.5 Padang earthquake struck at 17:16 local time on 30th September 2009 with an epicentre offshore about 60 km west-northwest of Padang, capital of West Sumatra Province. WRS-TSP Indonesia (stands for Warning Receiver System of TSP Indonesia) is the real-time system dedicated to receive earthquake information and tsunami bulletin from TSP Indonesia. Geological Survey (USGS) (model 2) catalogs. The death toll has exceeded 21,000 in Trkiye and north-west Syria as of 10 February. Every day people come to our website for the latest earthquake forecast. We estimate the coseismic slip distribution with dip angle information from the Global Centroid Moment Tensor (CMT) (model 1) and U.S. the page in your browser to make sure you have the latest forecast update. According to the BMKG, the epicenter of the earthquake was on. Public bulletins are available from the Australia, India, and Indonesia. CNN An earthquake of 6.1 magnitude hit Indonesia’s West Java province on Saturday, the country’s geophysics agency BMKG said. We use the aftershock distribution to constrain the fault‐plane strike of a right‐lateral fault identified as the Pantan Terong segment. A M8.6 shallow strike-slip earthquake occurred at 0838 UTC 11 April 2012 off the. This study investigates the coseismic slip distribution of the 2 July 2013 M w 6.1 Aceh earthquake using Global Positioning System (GPS) data, measured geological surface offsets, and an aftershock distribution for a period of four days after the mainshock.
